This Week in Sports 2010: Week 7
In this week's addition of TWIS we are going to talk about College Basketball as March Madness is approaching, MLB Spring Training, and the NBA Trade Deadline. Let us get in to this!
College Basketball is in its most exciting time of the year now. These are the weeks before the various conference tournaments as well as the NCAA tournament. We all need to watch closely as some conferences, such as the Big East, Big 12, A10, and the Mountain West, are close in standings for the one seed. No. 10 New Mexico takes on No 13 BYU on Saturday for a "winner takes all" situational game in Provo.
MLB Spring training started up this week. All eyes have been on the Nationals and Stephen Strasburg to see if the phenom will make the Nat's team this year. Also eyes have been on the Yankees in Tampa, seeing how the reigning World Champs are looking compared to their divisional rivals, Boston and the Rays.
The NBA had some big time trades last week. The headlines were Antawn Jamison going to Cleveland instead of Amar'e Stoudemire, and Tracy McGrady heading to New York in a 3 team deal. I think Cleveland made a great move, especially if they get Zydrunas Illgauskas back from Washington if the Wizards decide to buy him out. In the TMac trade, i think New York did a good jon in getting 1 more big name player to try to lure in LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, or Carlos Boozer for this upcoming Free Agency. Sadly, I do not think it will work. Nate Robinson was also sent to Boston for Eddie House, JR Giddens, and Bill Walker. Those three are headed with TMac to the Knicks.
