FCP HD Render Settings For Youtube

HD generation is sweeping the inter-nation, and youtube has followed suit. HD isn't exactly a new feature of youtube, but it has definitely caught on recently. There are a lot of videos/tutorials out there showing you how to render in 720p HD for youtube, so I thought I would add to them and create my own.

This one specifically applies to Final Cut Pro and Express, but it does also apply to any other Quicktime based renderer on mac- essentially all video applications on the mac. This exact method is usually found on the advanced or custom tab on applications like iMovie and Screenflow.

To the point;

  1.  Set your 'in/out' points on the timeline
  2. Go to 'File > > Export > > Using Quicktime Conversion
  3. Give it a meaningful name in the dialog box that opens and hit options
  4. Use the render settings in the screen grab below

OK it all.

If you didn't catch it, see the attached video below.

Welcome to the HD generation

Yet Another Graphics Card Problem For Apple

OK guys sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, but I got some pretty bad news for all owners of the new 17in MacBook Pro. Engadget reports that the fans on the machine may cause your graphics card to produce glitches of some sorts. Engadget also reports that Apple and Nvidia are working on a solution. But I can't help thinking lately Apple has been having a lot of "glitches" and "issues" with a lot of there products

Thanks

New Stuff

So now the rumors have been confirmed, the new Mac Minis, iMacs, an Mac Pros have been unveiled. With more features, and more USB ports, the new hardware seems like a step in the right direction.

Although I have been waiting for the release of the new Mac Minis for some time, I was disappointed to find that the entry-level iMacs have gone up in price. Although we can all see why, the lovely new hardware, I think it is a bit of a let down. Apple has always introduced a better Mac, for a smaller price. Either way the new iMacs are a lovely edition.

Support for 4GB straight from the shop in the Mac Minis is also getting my thumbs up. The integration of the new processors in to the new Mac Pros is also a wonderful thing, now a Mac Pro is even more powerful, however the top configuration, with all the bells and whistles will cost you just short of £18,000 ($25,000)! However the hardware does kinda justify this price - plus it's a Mac!

Overall I am pleased with the updates, and am likely to buy a new Mini in the next few months! What do you guys think?

New MacBook Pro 17-inch delayed for two weeks

Engadget has reported that the new 17-inch MacBook Pro has been delayed for two weeks (February 19th.) Apple has been sending emails to all customers who pre-ordered the new laptop saying: "wrapping up the new 17-inch MacBook Pro is taking a few days longer than we projected." Apple didn't give a reason why there delaying there new product, but I believe it has something to do with the new 8 hour built-in battery that is in the new MacBook Pro.

What ever it is I hope Apple fixes it as soon as possible.

Also, If any other news about this dilemma occurs I will report it immediately.
