Sennheiser HD 201 Review
So for a while now I have wanted some decent quality DJ style headphones for watching movies and listening to music when everyone else in the house was asleep. When I was out yesterday I popped into an HMV and was just browsing the DVDs and iPod accessories and there they were: a beautiful pair of Senheiser HD 201 headphones. Now I’m not going to make these seem like there is nothing bad about them, but when I saw them and just looked at the design I had to buy them and luckily for me they were the last pair.
The sound quality will obviously be the main focus with headphones and these in generally sound grea,t but I did find that the lower frequencies and bass tones were a little distorted. They are very comfortable and lightweight but they still feel really sturdy. The cable supplied is a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it does come with an adapter for older 6.3mm headphone jacks, the cable is around 3 metres long (10 feet) which is perfect for me because my computer is quite far away from my monitor (where I normally use them) so the cable is about the perfect length for me, but for some they are probably way too long.
So to conclude these headphones are a good pair of introductory headphones, but don’t expect amazing sounding bass and low tones.
Pros: Fairly inexpensive, very comfortable and lightweight, pretty good sound quality.
Cons: Bass and low tones can get distorted, very long cable.
