iPod Touch 2G vs. iPod Touch 3G (Speed Test)

Even though many people were disappointed with the very few new features that Apple introduced to the new iPod Touchs, some of them are still pretty useful. One of these new features is a faster processor. Apple stated that the processor is 50% faster than its predecessor, so I put together a speed test comparing both iPods (3G vs 3G) to see if this statement is really true.

It's certainly faster, but for current iPod Touch owners, I don't think that's a huge enough difference to justify an upgrade. Let's be honest, spending a whole (what is it, $299? I don't remember what the 16GB is now) chunk of money again to get slightly faster web browsing certainly isn't a huge improvement. It's a nice feature for people who are buying their first iPod Touch, or upgrading from the first gen.
