Left 4 Dead 2 Overview

Announced at E3 this year, the highly anticipated Left 4 Dead 2, is finally here!  Valve pulled off a miracle, since they never released a sequel the following year.  Left 4 Dead 2 includes all new features, game modes, characters, weapons and the new AI Director 2.0.  The plot takes place in South from places like Savannah to New Orleans, where the new 4 survivors are trying to evacuate, obviously. In my opinion, this is my most anticipated game of year, you will find out shorty.

Characters

With a new game comes new characters of corse.  In Left 4 Dead 2 the old ones are replaced with Coach, Nick, Rochelle, and Ellis.  Four totally different people, brought together to fight for there lives.

Ellis

The laid back, mid twenties, loves life mechanic.  Since the infection, he found new things to occupy himself, like blasting brains.  He is also the humorous of the pack, which seems to hold his bond.  He dosen't get along with Coach and Nick too well, but him and Rochelle are close.

Coach

Coach has a big heart, a healthy appetite, and a wicked swing with a chainsaw. After a knee injury ended his career as a defensive lineman in college, Coach salvaged his Physical Education degree (barely) and landed a job teaching health at the local high school in his hometown of Savannah. Nick and Coach appear to have a "love-hate" relationship, similar to what Francis and Bill had.

Rochelle

Rochelle is the journalist, who recently got promoted, to go out to Savannah.  Unexceptionally, she end up in this mess.  She likes to communicate with the world, and flirt around. (As he does with the other survivors.) Although, when Nick or Coach dies, she has disrespect, and says something like, "At least he was dressed for his funeral."  Rochelle has a special intention for Ellis.

Nick

Nick is the conman of the pack, who was a previous gambler.  He is also very cynical, so he takes the role of "the complainer" of the Group. Nick joined the other three in their quest to find salvation but is unsure about whether or not he can trust them, often comparing them to The Three Stooges. Still trying to figure out the best "angle" to get from the recent zombie apocalypse, as the time goes by, he starts to value his Survivor compatriots.

New Infected

Yes, all 4 infected are still in, along with 3 new ones.  The Spitter, Jockey, and the Charger.  I won't go into too much detail since there is not a lot to say but I'll summarize them.  They are all modified forms of the original. The Jockey, is like a Hunter but it takes control.  The charger is just a Tank, but it actually pins you to the ground.  and the Spitter is just like the smoker but it spits acid.  Along with those, there are also "Uncommon Common" in each campaign.  For example in the Dark Carnival campaign, there are clowns.  Each of these Uncommon Common also have a special ability.  When you shoots and kill the clown, his shoes squeak, thus alerting every zombie around him.  There are many more, but I let you find them out ;D.

AI Director 2.0

The AI Director is back with vengeance!  It's been refurbished and has all new features, as the following states.  The AI Director now plays a role in crescendo such as Lighting and Rain, in the Campaign "Heavy Rain."  For example, if the AI Director sees your team is doing very well, the rain will increase making it harder to see.  Or if you and your team are doing poorly, there is not so much rain.

New Game types

Scavenge

The game mode Scavenge is based on team work and communication.  In this mode, the survivors will have to fuel a tank to increase time, when the fuel is scattered around the map.  On the opposing team of the infected, there are controlled special infected by real players.  The maps will be a designated area in the campaigns.

Realism

People think of this game mode, harder or more difficult. It really isn't.  Realism just wants players who play well together, push their skills to a limit.  In this mode, the glow of the players and guns cannot be seen, thus making it impossible to see where they are, if behind a solid object.  Also, you cannot find a fallen survivor in a closet now you have to use the newly introduced defibs. Finally witch hits are one instant kill. Avoid witches at all costs!

In conclusion, if you a fan of the first Left 4 Dead, definitely pick up this one.  The game will cost you $60 and be available Tuesday, November 17th.  Happy gaming!
