Simple Onscreen Pictures (Mac)

Now I'm a little new to the Mac. I just figured out how to take a onscreen picture on your mac. Now some of you probably say "Doesn't everybody know how?" Well, for us new users we dont!

Take Full Screenshot

  • To take a full screenshot just simply hold down..."command shift 3
  • To take a certain section hold down...."command shift 4

- Now once you hold down command shit 4 little cross hairs will appear on your mouse pointer. Just highlight the sections you want, and your good to go!

I think it's really cool that you made a post like this. It's cool that you're looking out for the people who don't know everything about the Mac. I didn't know how to do this when I got my new Mac and I wish there had been a simple to-the-point blog post like this.

Also something many users overlook is the ability to take a screenshot of a window only. Once the crosshairs are showing after pressing Command-Shift-4, press the spacebar for an exact window capture.
