JellyCar 2 Review

JellyCar is back folks,One of the best game on the app store has got it's sequel. The game has its host of new content.32 new levels in the classic mode along with 3 new modes in the game.

The classic mode is the heart of the game.It brings back the genius level design of the first game but this time with a lot more objects and power-ups.The biggest editions are the balloons, used for floating upward and the tyre oil, used for sticking to surfaces even when upside down. These power-ups bring a management standpoint to the game, managing the power ups to reach the end of the without them running out. These take some getting used to,making the game considerably harder. It was a great experience playing through the levels and seeing all the new features.

Custom mode is interesting but nothing much to see. There are 2 sub-modes here,Customize and Level Editor.Customize is simply change the shape and color of your jellycar for use in the game across all modes. The level editor is better concept than execution. You simply select the starting point of your point and the end point of the flag and then add in the objects between the 2.Great idea, but lack of all the objects from the classic mode and some fidgety controls make this mode nothing to see.

Long Jump mode is what you would expect, driving downwards until you hit a ramp, flying up in the air and coming to an end when you hit the floor.Only 3 levels here but they are fun. This mode is the perfect 30 second time waster that people will play and have fun with.

Factory mode is nothing much. You move arrows to hit the jelly objects into their designated sections, racking up a high score with each object. This mode is easy and therefore long since it ends on a health bar ticking down by guiding jelly objects into the wrong sections. The mode is not fun either since there is just the one level and is something to ignore.

The physics engine seems to interact more with objects and is more noticeable to see the detail.I noticed some frame rate issues playing the game but this was no more than once or twice and nothing to worry about.

The game is defiantly for fans of the first game and if you didn't like the original this won't change your mind but at $0.99 the game is worth of the money and worthy of a download.

This game got very repetitive for me at times and very hard to handle. I like the new features but I didn't get the excitement I did with the first JellyCar
