Tech Review: Apple NetBook? (PowerBook G4 12")

Here is a great alternative to an Apple netbook if you cant wait for them to release one. It is small, compact, and ultra-portable. It has a ton of great features that definitely make this computer a buy. Apple Released this computer back in 2003 with a PowerPC G4 1.0gHz processor. It had a disk drive that could burn CDs, and DVDs, a full array of ports, including 2 USB, a firewire, ethernet, audio in / out, a built in modem, and a lock connector. Of course including a power port, but not a magsafe one, this was pre magsafe. The PowerBook Does pack a powerful punch for every day web browsing and word processing with those specifications. It has only a 12" screen and it is 1.08" thick and does not weigh to much so it is definitely an ultra portable computer.

The powerbook proved itself back in the good ol days of 2003 and still thrives a s a computer today as a ultraportable. There are really no compromises with this computer... unlike the Macbook air. There is a full sized keyboard that strectches the entire computer and looks unique and cool. The trackpad is okay by today's standards but works fine. I've upgraded mine to an 80GB HD and 1.0 GB of RAM. I use it everyday for quick web browsing and facebook and twitter.

Apple should definitely implement the design of the PowerBook into a netbook. It would be a great little computer and could boast such things as a CD drive and a full sized keyboard. Apple should also try to keep the ports on their machines, no need for less if there is more available. Sadly, Apple no longer makes the PowerBook G4, but you can go on ebay or craigslist and snag one for a great price. I got mine for $300! So if you cant wait for an apple netbook... GET THE POWERBOOK G4!

You seem to be mistaken because the MacBook air has a full sized keyboard which Apple considers to be one of there best keyboards.
