Next Generation of Tripod
Hey guys,
So I just wanted to let you all know of an amazing new product I purchased. You may have heard of it - it's called a 'GorillaPod'. I bought it for £9.99 (the digital camera version) and I have to say it's a fantastic little mechanism! Works fantastically! I didn't quite believe what I read about it - but now I do!
It has lots of balls (with grips around them) that can bend to fit around practically any edge, and it's truly very portable as it fits in my Jeans Pocket! I highly recommend it, as it can make recording so much easier for anyone!
Check out my unboxing video of it below :) Thanks, Hope you check the product out!

(Sorry for the horrible angles on the video, I was using a bad camera as the other one was being unboxed!)

They are alright. As a photographer with about 3 grand worth of gear, I would NEVER use one to support my camera. I stick to Manfrotto when it comes to that.
However, I did buy the DSLR Version of the Gorilla-pod.
At first it seemed like it was a great buy, I used it to support my off camera flash strobes and such.
However, when one of the legs actually fell out of the socket and my $500 strobe crashed to the ground (Very luckily not breaking!) I decided not to use it anymore.
I wouldn't really call this a "TRI-pod" because it doesn't have three legs. That is what the term "tri" means correct? Wouldn't you rather call this an uno-pod or something along the lines of that lol? Just my thought and wonders.
Steven,
It does have 3 legs, and you can stand it just like you would a normal tripod. But because of the flexibility it can be used in many different ways. I personally think it's called a gorillapod because the best way to use it is to have the two arms round a tree/etc and the back leg across the top, like a gorilla walks!

I've got one, had it for a while. I like it for my smaller, lighter cameras. You can see it in use in my friend Al's video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcEHES3lX30 at about 13:04 in. Very versatile....
Harley,
Alright. It just looks as if there is only one leg in the picture above. That's why it doesn't seem like a Tri-Pod to me. That's all! Although, it does seem cool that it's flexible, just doesn't seem TO sturdy for them heavy duty cameras.
