Monitor Solutions
Do you have a laptop of desktop with just one monitor? And you are in desperate need for more screen real estate but don't want to spend a lot of money? Then here is a solution for you. Actually, there are two solutions.
If you don't need a lot more real estate, there is a monitor that is 7" and is powered by USB with no VGA/DVI connections. This small solution will allow you to have many monitors like this on your desk setup. However, this solution will cost you $150-$200 depending on the model that you choose. The $150 model is just a plain old 7" screen that can be carried around in a laptop bag. The $160 model is also 7" but is not portable. The most expensive model gives you an added feature of a resistive touch screen which is apparently not that functional. If you would like to know more about this monitor solution, check out satechi.net.
The next solution is from Samsung and it works something like this:
Computer with one video output--> one Samsung 22" monitor (speciality monitor)--> connect to another one of the same monitors (up to 6 of them). So, the other 5 monitors connect to the previous one via USB. These are externally powered but they give you plenty of real estate. The maximum number of these in a row is 6 so if you max out the capabilities, then you will have 132" of screen real estate!!!
