How To Get A 2D Dock

One new feature that was introduced in Leopard was the 3D dock. Some people hated it, while others loved it. I personally like the 3D look, but am in the 2D mood. If you want to have a 2D dock without having to download any applications this is how you do it.

First open up terminal (Applications > Utilities)

Type in defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES

Then hit Return and type in killall Dock

Hit return one more time, and your dock will restart and you will have a 2D dock. If you ever want to go back to the 3D dock, all you have to do is type the same thing, but replace YES with NO.

The 3D dock is so nice! The 2D dock still looks good, but the 3D one is so much better.
