Samson C01U Unboxing & First Impression
A couple weeks ago I ordered the Samson C01U off of Amazon, but when I got it I didn't have my computer, and then I went on vacation, and the beautiful pictures of it on the box have been taunting me.
I got the podcasting pack, that includes the microphone, shock mount, and stand. The shock mount is very nice, and is built very well, and doesn't seem like it is going to fall apart. The purpose of the shock mount is to make any vibrations that may happen, not effect the sound of the microphone. The stand is very heavy for its little size, and is perfect for using on your desk. It isn't going to be easily pushed around on your desk.
When I first got it out of the box it wasn't the best experience. At first the sound was extremely quiet, then once I fixed that I noticed it was in mono, and not in stereo like I wanted. I figured out how to fix that by watching a tutorial online. Now that I fixed the low volume problem, and the mono issue, I am very happy with the quality that the mic offers.
