How would you like to do it all over again? Microsoft hires former Apple retail store executive
As Microsoft continues to“secretly” demo and figure out the retail store business, they seem to really be serious about it. Very serious. In fact, If both Microsoft and Apple retail stores were filled with the same products many people would not be able to tell the difference.
And even if in one there are Macs everywhere and in the other there are Windows logos everywhere, you have to admit that the Microsoft retail stores concepts look very good.
So you have to wonder how exactly did Microsoft manage to get their stuff to look so nice? Well it’s easy actually, all they did was hire someone who has already done the same thing before and was successful.
Yep, that’s right, Microsoft hired Apple’s former real estate chief George Blankenship. They’ve hired him so they can place Microsoft retail stores close to Apple stores, to create competition as well as get someone who knows a bit about the retail business.
I know, I’m thinking the same thing.Holy crap, they’re serious.

But George Blankenship wasn't really in charge of interior design, just the location?
Yes, but surely he had SOMETHING to do with the interior and the success of the Apple Retail Store market.
