How to Change A Mono Microphone into a Stereo Microphone

I recently got a new microphone, and when I got it, it was a mono microphone, and that didn't do me much good, because it didn't offer the sound that I wanted. Well I did a little hunting around on the internet, and found a way to make a mono micophone into a stereo microphone. It is actually a very easy process and only take 30 seconds to do.

Open an application called Audio MIDI Setup (Applications > Utilities). To make the microphone work with audio recording programs, (i.e. iMovie, Garageband, Logic) select Adio Devices from the tabs menu, and under System Settings > Default Input select the microphone that you want to be the main mic.

To make it stereo a microphone go to Properties For and selct the microphone that you want to be stereo. In the Adio Input section is where you make things happen. The format I suggest leaving at the default. In the drop down menu to the right of that is where you make it stereo. If your microhpone is mono is will most likely say 2ch- 16bit, to make it stereo just change that to 1ch- 16bit, and then your done!
