iTunes 9 to have cool new features?

The new iTunes 9 is supposed to have many new features, one of them being better application organization for your iPhone and iPod Touch. Another new feature is some sort of Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm integration. The final and most different feature is Blu-Ray support. None of these features have truly been confirmed but they come from a reliable source.

Some people think that Blu-Ray support would be a waste because Apple has already been doing great with digital downloads from iTunes and the Apple Website. It would just add another physical component to the Mac family that would be unnecessary.

One thing that would prove this true though is the news on the new iMac features and the rumored Mac Tablet. The Mac Tablet is brand new, so it could have a Blu-Ray drive but that is just pure speculation. However the new iMac is supposed to have some improvements for the "semi-professional audio/video crowd." Blu-Ray would definitely be something that would help this audio and video crowd.

I think this is a so-so idea because I think Apple is doing fine with digital downloads and people who want Blu-Ray support would have to buy an external drive for it or buy a whole new Mac.
