So many cameras. Which one is for you?

In this modern world, there are so many cameras to choose from that its overwhelming.  Hopefully, after reading this article, you will be able to make a better decision.  Let me just tell you that I am a photography lover and so obviously, my opinion will differ from yours.

I have gone through three Sony point-and-shoots and I probably will never buy one again.  The only reason for this is because whenever I have used a Sony camera, they have died on me.  What's the use of a dead camera?  My first Sony lasted for a whopping four years before stopping.  The camera will turn on but the lens won't pop out.  This was a P71.  After that died, my parents bought a Sony T1 which was the latest camera out at that time and it was super slim.  But, as all new technologies, this one didn't last.  The lens were poor quality and we got mono color shots.  We stopped using this and we got a replacement Sony.  This time the S730.  This one has lasted for the past year but that is because I haven't used it that much.  I will admit, however, that I am not sure about the quality of the newest Sony cameras although their Alpha range seems to be very reliable.  That seems to be the only camera range that I would go for from Sony.  I think that its pretty obvious to you all that I will never go for a Sony camera again.

Next is Nikon.  I love Nikon.  They make great cameras and they work beautifully.  I have only owned a DSLR from Nikon but I have used their point-and-shoots and they are also pretty good.  My dad owned a Nikon N5005 and he had two lens from them that were in storage.  After our horrible experiences with other cameras, my dad finally agreed to buy the D40 so that we could use the lens.  And we love it.  I don't go on any vacations without that camera and I am very happy with it.  It takes stunning photos and it may only be 6 MP but to be honest, I don't think we even need that much on this camera.  I love the camera and although it is the base model, I don't think that I need a better one.  Nikon's point-and-shoots are high quality with the Nikkor lens built-in to them.  They take some stunning photos and I think that it very affordable and accessible to all photographers out there.  I have played around with a couple of Nikon point-and-shoots and personally, I am not so impressed with them but I do like the UI and the ease of use.  Overall, I love my camera and I don't think that I'll go for any other company again.

Finally, I will talk about Canon.  Canon is a very popular imaging company as they make high quality scanners, binoculars and cameras.  This means that their cameras are very nice.  They do resemble Nikon cameras in that they use the same lens from the DSLRs in the point-and-shoots.  I have never owned a Canon camera but I have played around with some in stores and I think that they take some good shots and they are very affordable.  The hybrid cameras offer the best of both worlds.  The simplicity of a point-and-shoot and the feel and quality of a DSLR camera.  Many companies offer hybrid cameras but I personally like Canon's the best.  I think its mainly because of the feel of them in your hand.  You feel like your actually holding a DSLR and not just a point-and-shoot.

Overall, if I were to go out and buy a camera, I would buy a Nikon before looking at any other cameras.  But, I would still consider the Canons but let me make this very clear.  I will never buy a Sony again.  But, like I already said, these are my opinions so go ahead and buy a Sony if you think that its right for you.

Thanks
