Review Units?

I have began to write reviews for thecreativeone.tv and various other websites. I watch YouTube videos and people talk about getting review units for free. I was wondering how you do that and if it would be possible for me to get that as I only do written reviews, not video reviews. Please comment below.

I have gotten free products to review from websites, but I do video reviews. It is possible though to get them for written reviews. Most places are just looking for advertisement in your reviews. Just try contacting a few different places and letting them know the possible revenue it could bring them over time.

Yes, what Jay has said. I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm if you mention this social blog, and if you do make sure you just say how many hits a day this site gets. That should help.

Good luck, and do let us know how you get on!

If you visit the Advertise page (http://www.thecreativeone.tv/advertise/) on this site, it does say that the site has 'a wide audience of 2,000+ page views on a daily basis.'

And companies would like to have their products being reviewed and seen by a large audience. It might also help if you build a portfolio of your reviews to provide to any companies as evidence to show off your work. That's something else to consider.

Emma,

The best thing you can do is to contact as many companies as possible. Keep in mind, though, that the majority will unfortunately never respond. I've emailed tons of companies, but usually only 20% of them get back to me. It certainly doesn't hurt to try though!

Your best bet is to email companies that sell lower priced products, such as iPhone cases and accessories; or anything iPod related for that matter. Mention this blog and perhaps some of the companies I've done reviews for (search on my YouTube channel "review") will get back to you.

I hope this helps!

I noticed you also said that you write reviews, not videos. Personnally I think videos are better, especially when reviewing a product. Not only does the viewer get to see the product, they can also see how it works and how it does what it does. Something that can be difficult to describe with words.

Now, i'm not saying that videos are better every time. It's just something else for you to consider. I think from my own experience, i'd prefer to watch a video review of a new product, then to read a review. Just depends I suppose.

Anyway, good luck. And I hope you receive some positive replies!
