Apple Vs. Microsoft (Quarter of July 2010)

As you probably know, Apple and Microsoft have been engaged in an on going battle for a very long time, and since Steve Jobs left Apple, Microsoft has dominated. This changed in April 2010, when Apple became the world's most valuable technology company (according to market capitalization) even surpassing Microsoft.

Apple showed the world that they deserve the right to hold this title by producing an astonishing quarter. It was the first time in 14 years in which Apple generated more revenue than Microsoft. Apple announced $20.34 Billion while Microsoft only announced $16.20 Billion.

Although Apple generated a lot more revenue than Microsoft, Microsoft's profit ($5.4 Billion) was much more than Apple's ($4.3 Billion). Microsoft's earning increased by 51%, while Apple's boomed by 70%. This shows that Apple is is obviously growing at a much faster rate, and will soon over take Microsoft in terms of profit as well. Its just a matter of time.

Very true, but they have been competing financially, and in terms of market share.
