Firefox 4.0 BETA Overview

So the guys at Mozilla are at it again and have finally released the Firefox 4.0 BETA for Mac and PC. I've been, well, BETA testing it for about a week now and finally decided to share my thoughts with you guys! So whats new?

1) A brand new UI - Tabs are now on top of the 'awesomebar' and generally, it looks much cleaner

2) 'Panorama' tab view - Allows you to group tabs and resize them

In terms of aesthetics, those are the only two new things. Under the hood, however, is a different story! Firefox now includes full HTML5 support, which is a protocol being implemented by numerous websites now. Furthermore, it also includes 'Crash Protection', a feature many Firefox users have been longing for. This will allow you to still use the rest of Firefox, even if an element of a particular tabs has frozen, or crashed etc.

There are other features in the new update of Firefox, however these are the ones that are by far the most useful and noteworthy. Overall, I have to say it's quite nice to see some new features, and surprisingly, they are implemented very well indeed! In terms of speed (the thing most users actually care about), Firefox 4 is minutely faster than it's predecessor. Launch speed of the application it self is also about the same.
