Google launching 1Gbps ISP service
Google’s has been providing free airport WiFi and the free WiFi network in Mountain View for a while now, but Google has now decided to jump into the ISP market with the launch of a optic fiber based ISP service that’ll offer 1Gbps speeds at “competitive prices” to select markets. Google is going to start off by providing access to between 50,000 and 500,000 people for a sort of trial run.
Google’s is currently looking for people who are interested in participating in the trial run in the US and the launch markets will be announced later this year. (Fingers crossed Google will offer the service in the UK)
