HTC announces HTC Legend, Desire, and HD Mini.

HTC has been a leader in phones for quite some time, delivering what we want in an Android or Windows Phone phone. At MWC 2010, HTC is ready to keep that tradition going.

Changes to Sense

HTC Sense has been HTC's skin for Android and Windows Phone for about 1 year. Though that year HTC has received some feedback on the Sense skin, and has put that feedback to work. HTC has added 2 new features to Sense, one of them is Leap. Leap is a feature where you are at one of your homescreens and you pinch to see all your homescreens on different cards, which like multitasking on Palm's WebOS. Another new feature to Sense is Friend Stream, which is much like the social aggravator built in to MotoBLUR. It brings in all your friends status updates from Twitter and Facebook and puts them into one single page or widget, which seems to be a nice feature.

HTC Legend

The HTC Legend is the successor to HTC's Hero, which was the first phone to run Sense. The Legend has a brand new unibody aluminium build, which has been seen in Apple's MacBook and MacBook Pro lineups. The screen size stays the same at 3.2 inches, but bumps it up to an AMOLED screen, which has been seen in phones like the Samsung Wave, or HTC/Google Nexus One. The Legend also has the standard set of connectivity including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, though no word on GPS or aGPS. HTC, much like RIM, has been removing trackballs from its line up of phones and replacing them with a new optical trackpad, the track pad is also one large click able button. The Legend, along with the HTC Desire will run the updated Sense skin on Android 2.1. So far no pricing has been announced, but it will be available on Vodaphone in Europe starting in early second quarter.

HTC Desire

The HTC Desire can be described in a few words: A Nexus One running Sense. The Desire runs almost identical technical specifications, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera with LED flash, and the same 3.7 inch AMOLED screen. It also carries HTC's new optical trackpad, which doubles as a clickable button. Though HTC did manage to pack a suprise inside the Desire, which ironically makes you want to desire the Desire, which is full flash support and will be Flash 10.1 ready. It runs the new updated version of Sense over Android 2.1. No word on pricing, but will be available in Europe and Asia in the second quarter, and will be on Telestra in Austrailia.

HTC HD Mini

This is not the first time a manufacturer has done this, they have shrunk down their flagship phone into a smaller, more versatile phone, while still retaining the wow factor. For HTC, they have shrunken down the flagship HTC HD2 into the smaller HTC HD Mini. It still retains many of the same specifications, including: Wi-Fi, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Bluetooth, GPS, and Windows Phone 6.5.3. Though, something had to give in for the smaller size, and that was the screen which was shrunken down from a massive 4.3 inch screen to a smaller 3.2 inch HVGA screen. It is heading for Europe and Asia with 7.2 mpbs HSDPA sometime in the 2nd quarter. No word if it is coming to T-Mobile USA, since they are carrying the larger HD2 next month.
