E3 to unveil two new handheld consoles?

Yes, you might be thinking that E3 is still quite awhile away and that we have GDC on the gaming calendar next, but Shane Bettenhausen of Ignition Entertainment (previously of EGM) hypothesized on this week’s 4 Guys 1UP podcast that Sony and Nintendo’s portable follow-ups will be revealed at this year’s E3 event:

“I think the big story of E3 is DS 2 and PSP 2. I’m really excited to see that,” he further commented that the“DS and PSP both existed in completely different sides [...] if those two put out similar products at the same time, it really evens the playing field.”

You might be thinking that this is some guy just trying to start off some new rumours, but this guy is usually spot on when it comes to rumours and if his sources are correct, this almost certainly could be true.

It’s great news too the ears of PSP and DS fans atleast, however i doubt we will hear any confirmation any time soon. Still, it still gets you handheld gamers excited, huh?
