YouTube: A Closer Look

YouTube is referred to as the best place to share and watch videos on the net. Sure, it’s a great site for uploading videos for a great number of people to see, but it’s also a great way to get you and your content out there. Over the past years, YouTube has evolved to become something great. This holds to be true especially for those who make money by posting videos. So where do the downfalls of YouTube come in? You may not believe it, but the problems are in the users themselves.

YouTube can be referred to as a television. It’s full of many “channels” and shows that you can watch at anytime. Some people like to think of their YouTube channel as a television show and so should others. However, in a real world this would never happen. There are those YouTuber’s who post great meaningful content on a regular basis, those who post videos regularly without to much attention to overall quality and content, and then those who upload completely random and pointless videos with no attention to quality or content what so ever.

In a real world nothing will be perfect and YouTube will certainly never be. The spam on YouTube is atrocious and this shows to be true with comments especially. Now what about those videos that violate the terms and conditions but have a large view count? They stay up! Inappropiate content stays there, but because it’s the most popular. In many people’s eyes, YouTube has a lot of things to work and build upon if they aren’t going to follow they’re own terms and conditions.

The viewer base on Youtube is simply astounding but they certainly have a lot to build upon. There are so many individuals who already post great content, but compared to those who don’t, there is quite a difference. Take a look at your channel and see how you can build upon it. Who knows, you might even get excepted as a partner… if YouTube doesn’t take four months to respond that is.

Hi Chris,

In your blog you mentioned that inappropriate content is not taken off of YouTube. What do you consider inappropriate? To me, the beauty of YouTube is how diverse its users are. Just about any topic is discussed, sometimes endlessly.

@FailedChimp Yes, in my post, i did mention that inappropriate content is not taken off YouTube. When specifically concentrating that topic, you will find those who curse left and right, those who are being offensive towards others, and then, because we all have seen it on there, there is the "pornographic material." I was never trying to slam those who are diverse, but those who are in considerably bad ways. What did you think I meant?
