Apple iPhone OS 4.0 Overview
Earlier This Week, April 8th 2010 To Be Exact, Apple held a Keynote announcing iPhone's new OS 4.0. First, Apple announced the profit and amount of iPhone and iPad Units sold in the past several years! Then Apple got to the good stuff, starting with multitasking.
Multitasking is probably the most anticipated part of the new OS. After That, they announced Folders, which allows you to put many applications in one folder to find each app with much ease. Next came Game Center, which is very similar to Xbox Live, and allows you to play applications online with friends! Then Apple announced that the well-known iPad application, "iBooks" will be coming in the new 4.0 Update. Finally, Apple discussed a new feature called, "iAd."
iAd allows developers to import advertisments into their application to make revenue. 60% of Revenue goes to the developer, while 40% goes to Apple. So, this new OS will be coming to iPhone 3G and 3GS and iPod Touch 2nd and 3rd Gen this summer, however some features will be unavailable for the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd Gen. All iPad users will have to wait until fall for this new software. As for iPhone 1G and iPod Touch 1st Gen users, you will not recieve this update at all! So, in my opinion, Apple answered many suggestions from many users, and has made this new OS 4.0 amazing!
