Gizmodo: Ethically or Legally Wrong?

As I'm sure of, you've all heard about the next generation iPhone prototype that has been "found", and you probably know the website that has it now (Gizmodo). But honestly is exposing a found prototype the right thing to do, ethically or legally speaking? Oh wait, I mean buying a found phone and exposing it.

Now, take this scenario in consideration (Warning: You might have a feeling of deja vu):  I walk into a bar, and find someone's phone, ask around if it belongs to anyone, then take it home with me. (Hmmm, I'm pretty sure "Finder's keepers, loser's weepers" doesn't apply here) A few weeks later someone offers me, oh I don't know, maybe $5000 for the phone that I found, and I take the money for the phone. But honestly would it be my phone to sell?

I understand they will get a lot of attention, being the media source that exposed an upcoming Apple product, but is this legally wrong? We all know they broke tons of ethical and moral laws.

Well, Gizmodo, I see a lawsuit in your future. (Hopefully)

Is just me or can anyone else see where it says how much they paid? Anyway, I do believe that they did is both ethically and legally wrong.

It's a company which gives out technology news, in the same way newspapers pay for exclusivity deals on big stories they have paid for probably the biggest story going. I personally think that $5000 is reasonably cheap considering how much publicity this Gizmodo company has got over the past few days. I don't see what everybodys problem is with it.
