Theme Parks Added to Google Street View
Some of the UK’s biggest theme parks are Google’s latest addition to the Street View service, allowing you to look around them in 360-degree gloriousness. So rather than nosing around your area for any familiar faces on Google Street View, you can now nose around the likes of Alton Towers, looking at people’s faces as they drop down Oblivion or go upside down on Air.
So how did that Google Street View car get around the theme parks? Well in fact they didn’t; all of the images of the theme parks were taken by one man riding around on a tricycle. Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventure, Lego Land and SeaLife have all been popped into the latest update of Google Street View.
Merlin Entertainment, the owner of the Theme Parks stated “As attractions like theme parks have grown to offer so many more rides and activities, it can be difficult to fit everything in without a bit of planning. Street View will add another dimension to the other tools that we offer our visitors to help in this, and we look forward to adding the facility to more of the Merlin attractions in time.”
It looks like Google Street View will become a nifty little tool for people who want to plan their theme park visits in advance and good for people who just want to nose round at the attractions.

This is such an irrelevant article, the content on this site really has taken a dip. Please post better stuff chris, this one sucked,
Wow ^ I didn't find it irrelevent. Last time I checked, this was a blog mainly about technology and Google street view is an impressive update in the world of technology. Several years ago, could you have such a detailed look into places you might want to visit before actually going? No. This shows how technology is evolving and changing our lives, of course it's relevent, in my opinion of course.
Matt,
Of course I respect your opinion, and it is no doubt that Google Maps has been a huge breakthrough in technology. I just feel that the fact that they added theme parks, doesn't fit in well with the content on this site and its not such a large topic where it deserves an article. Of course, both you and I are entitled to our opinions.
I actually found this article very interesting. I understand everyone has a different opinion, but the Social Blog welcomes any kind of content, as long as it's appropriate for all audiences. And plus, this particular article has to do with Google, which I think ties in pretty well with technology related content.
Keep up the great work, Chris!
