Kindle to get Twitter and Facebook

Amazon’s popular e-reader will soon be getting a welcome update that will allow users to have access to their Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as several other new features. Users can expect a software update to their devices over the next few weeks, probably late May.

Amazon have announced that with the update, users will be able to update their social networking accounts with what books are being read, and share opinions with fellow Kindle users discussing books. Included in the update is a feature that will also allow users to be able to sort their books and other documents into different collections and for security, they’ll be able to password protect their Kindle!

Just a few weeks after Apple’s iPad was released in the United States Amazon announce this update. Could Amazon be having problems with sales, since their biggest competition is doing surprisingly well, as Apple have had to change the release date here in the UK since they sold too many in the US!

So for all you Kindle owners out there, expect this, what looks to be great, update ready to download wirelessly to your device around the end of May!
