3D: Fad or Future?
I'm sure everyone knows that the PlayStation 3 is going to be 3D compatible, but how many people are actually going to play the PS3 in 3D?
As of now 3D TVs will cost you from 2k-6k. These aren't cheap, but the DVD and Blu-ray players weren't cheap when they first came out either. Panasonic is also producing a 3D camera that will cost you the small price of $21,000 that you can get just to mess around with on your new TV.
But 3D movies in actual movie theaters never got big; why would I think that 3D TVs will? I don't. I don't think there will be enough products to buy. Sure, you can game in 3D, but how many games are actually going to be made for 3D? My guess is very few. Also a problem that is not talked about too often is the blinding headaches people could potentially get. I know of a few people who can not watch anything in 3D for more than about 30 minutes or they get unbearble pains.
My final thought is, it's a fad. I do not think this will last, due to the high prices, and how many people actually want to wear glasses for hours on end just to see in 3D? 3D movie theaters never got very popular, except for a few blockbusters every once in awhile, and I don't think this will either.

I don't know if it will ever catch on but be sure to check it out in store, the quality of these new 3D TV's are amazing. I know I won't buy one any time soon but if I won the lottery or something I would grab one. :)
And 3-D seems to be exploding in theaters lately, tons of 3-D movies coming out this year.
haha! who holds there kids when they are playing videos? like really?
Well my mother is blind in one eye so she can't view 3D movies or anything in 3D, plus JOhnny Depp has an eye condition and can't see 3D things either, even the movie he played in, Alice In Wonderland. It's sad, but they don't even consider people like that, so I hope it doesn't catch on, for people with eye problems sake...
damn how many rhetorical questions can there be in 1 post?
