Apple and the iPhone 4
As we all know, the iPhone 4 was able to be pre-ordered from Apple's website on June 15th. So much traffic went to the website that the whole store actually crashed, as well as the AT&T website. Now Apple has sold 3 other iPhones, shouldn't they have anticipated how many people were going to visit the site to pre-order? What I'm also disappointed about was how the iPhone 4 in white isn't even available and won't even be for another two months! Not to mention that when AT&T's site went down, there was a breach in their security while the servers were down. Some people may not even get there iPhone until July! June 15th was a very hectic day for a lot of Apple geeks.
Leave a comment letting me know if you were able to even get your iPhone. Personally, I was able to get one. I went down to my local AT&T store and pre-ordered.

I got my order in around 8 am EST before it got extremely hectic. Even then the ATT site was extremely slow from the traffic it was getting, and I was reading that Apple.com wasn't even working and that was just in the early morning. I'm thinking I'll get mine on the 25th seeing as how AT&T is delivering their orders on a first come first serve basis. I wish there was a way I could check to see an expected delivery, but I'm supposed to get an email when it ships.
Yes, I got mine ordered by 7:45p CDT on Tuesday June 15th from Apple.com (upgrade from 3G) and it says delivers by June 24th.
The reason that apple isn't selling the iphone 4 in white is because they knew from the hype that there was going to a be a high demand. In order to meet the demand, they had to only create the iphone 4 in one color. It would be quicker to create all black than have to split in half with white.
