Incase Protective Sleeve for 13" MacBook Pro: Review

When I was deciding what computer to upgrade to back in February, I knew what work I would be doing in the future. I was going to be traveling more than I have been, which is why I went for a smaller computer. Yet, just because the 13" MacBook Pro is smaller than the other pro notebooks, doesn't mean that it isn't as vulnerable. So after owning a first gen 15" MacBook Pro, I knew that sooner or later I would need to buy a case. With my old computer I used a generic neoprene case with handles to give it that briefcase look. However I was driven insane with the noise the neoprene material made. Also it collected so much dust that sometimes I just wanted to throw it in the washer.

So for my new unibody creation I had three options: One, get a over the shoulder bag, sort of like a messenger bag. Two, go for a slimmer, yet protecting leather sleeve. Or three, pick up a much cheaper snap on plastic shell. First issue is price, the Incase sleeve certainly didn't beat some snap on shells that I was looking at, yet cheaper isn't always better. The second is durability, clearly, no matter what people say, the snap on shell would shatter to pieces. The Incase however was very nice, faux fur interior and fake leather outside of it, which made it able to take some damage. The over the shoulder bag(s) are nice for protection, but they are really made more for someone who is traveling all the time. The real question is how the case fits in with your life. The Incase wins.
