iWork '09 Upgrade Difficulties

I recently got my Mac for my 16th birthday and was starting in college (UK) and was in dying need of a new computer. The great thing about Macs is that there is no need for anti-virus/internet security software as it is UNIX based. The only software I "needed" was iWork '09 or Microsoft Office 2008. Office 2008 was ok but i preferred iWork 09. I downloaded the free trial off Apples website and then i had a week until the trial ran out so i bought the full retail package off amazon.co.uk. This was £58 supposed to £71 that apple was charging. I put in the DVD surprised to see no serial number at all in the packaging. The software installed and then said enter serial no. this is because it didn't overwrite the files properly. (doesn't work if you put the trial in trash). So I called up Apple Care and after forty minutes on the line, we basically went through the hard drive looking for iWork files and deleted every trace of iWork. Put the disc in and then worked but it was a bit stupid not putting in a serial number.

At least this problem was solved and iWork 09 is running pefectly. It's also worth noting this is a common problem with people. And I suggested that they put information on their website how to overcome this problem as I found numerous forums asking how to fix the problem.

It's also worth noting that Apple Care only charge 5p per minute so for a 40 minute call was only £2. This is because the average Apple Care call is between 30mins - 1hr long. If you want a full guide on how to fix this problem, leave a comment and I will post a how-to.
