Vizio and Android Partner for Smartphone

Vizio the maker of low cost HDTVs and Blu-ray players is teaming up with Google's Android OS to produce a cost effective smartphone and internet tablet. It is reported that the Via Phone will have a 4-inch display while the Via Tablet showcases an 8-inch screen, which is 1.7 inches smaller than the iPad. They both will feature a 1GHz processor (processor manufacturer not yet announced), and both will sport an HDMI output. The Via products contains a front facing camera and a rear facing camera capable of HD quality video, a MicroSD slot for memory expansion, Wi-Fi b/g/n, bluetooth, GPS and three external speakers. Prices have yet been announced but the low price of Vizio's TVs we can be sure to expect it to be priced at a bargain.
