Lockerz Expands
The last time I posted about Lockerz, it was merely a beta service with limited users, products and stability. Now, it has a multitude of news users, content, prizes and more.
Watch the Video Review
Lockerz is has morphed from a site where users watch videos and earn points and publishers can gain exposure through it to a full blown social network. The PTZ system is still implemented and users can still use them to buy items from the Lockerz online store for a discount.
PTZ Earning and Shopping
The difference for beta users now is that you can't use your PTZ and no cash to purchase items. Now, the points count for a percentage rather than as an actual currency. For those of you who aren't farmiliar with what I'm talking about, you used to be able to use say 4,300 points to pay for an iPad. It was a simple business decision and I don't blame them. Besides: you can still really cut down the cost of items you want to buy! Plus now, PTZ are much, much easier to get as I'll show you in the video above. Hell I've gotten a couple thousand points a day quick and easy so getting a discount on items in the store shouldn't be a hassle at all.
Social Networking
This is where Lockerz goes beyond a marketing site. Where most marketing sites do the bare minimum to g=keep their users engaged and keep the money flowing, Lockerz goes beyond the call in introducing abilities to upload and share photos with points. They've integrated an entire social network of their own into their site to keep users coming back and to ensure that they actually like using the site! Would I say this social network they have is anything near competition to Facebook? Not yet. However, I think if you put it up against MySpace if they were both just starting out, it would easily surpass MySpace. It has a very clean, rich and innovative interface that makes the site easy and most importantly: simple to browse.
This post in a sentence:
"Lockerz has come from a marketing site with a social network to a social network with a marketing section and it's only growing."
