HTC Evo View and Evo 3D: First Impressions
Overview:
Sprint announced today their brand new HTC products: The View and the 3D. The Evo View is a 7-inch tablet PC with a resolution of 1024 x 600 display. The Evo 3D is a 4.3-inch cellphone with a 3D display, hence why it is called the HTC Evo 3D. Here are my thoughts…
HTC Evo View:
In my opinion, it’s just another HoneyComb tablet. Just with different specs. It is using a powerful 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (not dual-core), and 1 gigabyte of RAM. WiFi b/g/n. MicroSD card support up to 32 gigabytes. Latest version of HTC Sense. two cameras (5-megapixel sensor on the back and 1.3-megapixel on the front). And an aluminum casing. Nothing big at all, and it isn’t better than the Xoom or the iPad 2. It would’ve been cool about a year ago.
HTC Evo 3D:
This is the good part. Now, what makes this phone different from your average smartphone is it’s 3D qHD (540 x 960) display. That’s only one of the cool, new, and exclusive features. It also has two cameras on the back so you can take 3D pictures and video, awesome! Both cameras are 5 mega-pixels, as well as dual LED flash. Along with a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front. If you thought it would stop there, well you were wrong. It also has a dual-core 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Thats fast!! 1 gigabyte of RAM, 4 gigabytes on-board memory, and a 8 gigabyte microSD card. 4G is supported. It is also running the latest version of Android, Gingerbread, with the latest version of Sense on it. I think this phone brings a lot of cool new features to the table. Will just see how it will do against the iPhone 5.
Resolution:
I can see the Evo 3D being a cool new phone that a lot of people will buy. On the other hand, the tablet is a fail. No one will buy it (exaggeration). The iPad 2 is king in the tablet world, and The HTC Evo View doesn’t even surpass the iPad 1 in my opinion.
