Smart Cover: My Thoughts

One of my favorite things about the iPad 2 is the Smart Cover. It is very stylish while keeping a slim profile. In my opinion Apple did better with this case than they did with the original iPad. It’s going to be kind of hard to explain the Smart Cover, but I will do it to the best of my ability. If you are ever confused just go check out Apple’s Smart Cover video.

The cover is made up of 21 magnets and there are four sections of the cover. When you place the cover on top of the iPad it automatically goes to sleep. When you open it back up, it wakes up automatically. The part of the cover touching the iPad screen is microfibers, so it should clean your screen when placed on the iPad. This is where it may get confusing; just go check out the video. Apple split the cover into four pieces so you can fold them up in a triangular position, and it is at a good typing angle. Then you can bring it up and it is at a good movie/FaceTime viewing angle. Pretty cool stuff.

I definitely recommend this cover, even though it may be a little pricey. There is only one con to this case. It doesn't cover the back. It comes in two types of material. Polyurethane: $39 Leather: $69
