White iPhone 4 - It's Officially Here, But is it Even Worth It?

The iPhone 4 as we know it is an amazing device. It's changed a lot since the first iPhone was released in 2007. One thing that didn't really change is the iPhone 4's colour options.

It became a legendary rumour - 'The white iPhone is not coming'. For a while, we accepted this.
The white iPhone 4 was announced at the keynote back in 2010, but it wasn't officially released with the black model. It was delayed many times -- so many times that it seemed like Apple was ignoring it.

Apple claimed that due to manfacturing problems, 'the white colour of the iPhone reacts to light differently than the black iPhone. The colour can crack and peel when the device heats up or discolour.' There have also been statements that the flash has flashback issues with the white colour.

10 months later, we still have not seen the white model. This is about to change.

Following up from Phil Schiller's tweet "the white iPhone will be available this Spring, and it is a beauty"; Apple are sticking to their word, and to prove it - they are releasing the iPhone 4 in its white variant.

But is it worth it with the iPhone 5 around the corner? It has the exact same hardware, software and design as of the black iPhone 4, therefore buying a white variant of the phone is nothing but buying a year old gadget.

Of course, if you dig the colour, then go for it. It's the moment you've been waiting for. It will be on sale starting 28th April 2011 at all mobile retailers.
