Google Music Beta: Are Cloud Based Files the Future?

Google has launched its music service, and it was released today (May 10th 2011). The Music application is still in beta, but it is very easy to use and offers a wide variety of features and settings. It runs on all Android devices and can be accessed on the computer and maybe even an iPhone or iPod touch's mobile Safari. Google Music allows you to access your shared and downloaded music anywhere with your devices. Google Music stores your music on the cloud, similar to the possible iTunes Cloud, or iCloud that people are discussing rumors of.

Google music lets you make custom playlists, or there is also a cool feature called Instamix, which creates a playlist instantly by itself using your songs, similar to Apple's "Genius. Right now, on the info page of the beta, you have to send a request to Google in order to try the beta, and it says "free for a limited time". It also says you are able to use the service when offline, but only music you have recently played using the program. The Google Music beta syncs automatically so all devices are updated when you are connected to the web, all free (for now). Is storing files on a "cloud" a good thing or a bad thing?
