What's In My Dock

Now, I did make a YouTube video of this, but I thought it would be more appropriate to make a blog post for it on TekSocial.

Finder: Comes with every Mac, just like Windows Explorer but easier to use in my opinion.

Mac App Store: One of my most used apps on my Mac. I am so happy that I don't have to go to Apple's freeware apps page anymore to download apps for my Mac. Also, it integrates nicely with my iTunes account, which is very nice.

Twitter For Mac: I really like this app, because it will take multiple twitter accounts at a time, and integrate all of them into one live feed.

Safari & Google Chrome: My two favorite web browsers. Safari is my all time favorite, mostly because I have been using it since Panther came out. Google Chrome is my backup browser when flash is crapping out or when I feel the need to use extensions- especially the Angry Birds beta for Google Chrome.

iTunes: Pretty self explanatory why it is in my dock, I don't know how I would live without it.

iMovie: What I use to edit my Youtube videos, used to use Sony Vegas Pro 8, but I was just learning how to use it and it was very time consuming. iMovie is so much easier to use.

Skype: My personal favorite Voip client, I find it to be the best quality, and the best reliability.

Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, And Word: Mostly used for school, I do prefer these programs over iWork, mostly because I do not have to convert anything to use it in school durning a project.

Screenflow: What I use to record my screen for Youtube, I really like version 2.0, they added a lot more features than iMovie has, and just as easy to use.

Angry Birds: My favorite game ever, even topping Modern Warfare and the other console games. Now, I have it on my computer too thanks to the Mac App Store.

A Monster Ate My Homework: A very addicting game, like it better on my Macbook Pro then on the iPhone 4, mostly because I like having the extra screen resolution while playing.

Facetime: I defiantly find it more convenient to facetime on my Macbook Pro then on my iPhone. I get better wifi signal, and better quality video.

Djay and VirtualDJ Home: I grouped these two programs together because they have the same purpose, electronic djing. The only difference is Djay costs $99 and VirtualDJ Home is free.

Mac Cleanse: A relatively new app to the Mac App Store, used to clean out cache and unused files and folders in an effort to clean out your Mac to give you as much free space on your hard drive, and make your Mac as fast as possible.

Speed Task: Basically like a $5 Mobile Me without the mail, just push calendar. It will sync with your iPhone or iPod Touch, and give you reminders when tasks are coming up. I mainly use it for Youtube video upload dates.

Flip Share: Comes with every Flip Video Camera, reminds me of an iPhoto but for videos. Very easy to use, and organized.

VZAccess Manager: Used to update and change passwords for my Verizon Mifi 2020, also for using my Mifi when hardwired into my Mac via usb.

Caffeine: When you open the app, a little empty coffee cup shows up on your menu bar. When you click it, it becomes a full coffee cup with steam. That means that your Mac's brightness will not dim down and your monitor will not go into sleep mode.

This was a nice post! Usually with a video like this, you just see a video but it was nice to read it for once.
