Grove Skin for iPad 2 Review
If you are looking for an elegant skin for your iPad 2 that will make it stand out of the crowd, in my opinion the Grove Skin for the iPad 2 is the only option.
Upon opening the package that the skin is delivered in, you are greeted with polite instructions on how to put the skin on to your device. The package does warn you that the skin may not survive recentering or complete removal unlike when putting a screen protector on. This is where the skin falls flat in my opinion, as you have to put it on exactly correct on first time, and with steady hands.
The reason why this skin stood out to me is the evident hard work that is put in to making this to make it the most aesthetically pleasing skin on the market. The skin is made out of 100% renewable bamboo, has laser engraved art (except the original) and boasts a hand rubbed natural oil finish.
Another great feature of the Grove Bamboo skin, is it's size. It is only 0.030 millimetres thick, meaning that this will fit in quite a lot of cases which of course, is a huge plus.
There is a very neat cut-out for the back-facing camera, but a part from that there are no other cut-outs for any extra ports as these are left completely clear.
Now keeping in mind the way this case is made and what it is made of, the price of $39 (£23) is actually very good, and although it may be on the pricey side for some people, if you want to give your iPad a little touch of elegance, this is the way to go. You can also pick up the original Bamboo skin which no laser engraved art on it for $29 (£17), or if you want to pick another design from the wide array of skins it is also $39 (£23). If you are a budding artist yourself and would like to show off your art on your tablet, it only costs another ten dollars at $49 (£29).
Now, if this skin sounds interesting to you and you are thinking of maybe purchasing it, you can take a look at their other cases and skins at grovemade.com.
This skin was kindly sent over to me by Grove to review.
