WWDC 2011 Final Predictions

*Disclaimer - I come off like a huge Apple fanboy in this post. I understand I sound like one, but I'm being honest with what I say and how I say it.

iOS 5, Mac OS X Lion, iCould - All things Apple geeks have been wanting to see for months now and tomorrow, Monday June 5th, we expect to see them announced but, there are a few other things I would like to see happen tomorrow at Word Wide Developers Conference (WWDC).  They include:
  1. New Airport & Time Capsule
  2. Wireless Syncing
  3. Better Social Integration into OS X Lion
  4. Universal Remote Mac Access
  5. Unification of OS X & iOS
  6. Safari 6.0 & iTunes 12

The first thing I would like to see at WWDC is a new Airport wireless router.  I can't really say what I would like to see in it because I've personally never owned one but that is the nice thing about Apple, they can take a near perfect product or an idea that most people would never think of, create it, and amazing the users. I am positive that if they were to refresh this product, they could do some amazing things with it, especially with the expected iCould being announced and hopefully wireless airplay.

Another thing I would like to see Apple announce at the event is Wireless Syncing. I honestly don't think I have to explain this. Wires tend to be ugly strings in the way of simplistic design.  Also, another problem with the iPod's USB 30-pin cord, it isn't very functional and limits how far you can go with it being such a short wire. Wireless syncing would be simply amazing for Apple devices.

The third thing I would like to see would be better social integration with Mac OS X Lion.  With the launch of the Mac App Store, I've seen many applications that allow you to view your Facebook Status Updates and News Feeds by the click of an icon in your menu bar and I've seen many more applications for Twitter for your desktop. How awesome would it be if you didn't even have to go into your web browser and log into Facebook. Just clicked an icon and there you go. Of course, like I said they already have applications like this in the App Store but I can't image how seamless it could be if Apple designed this. Imagine - a "Like" button in your applications, even though that won't happen. How crazy would that be? It would get annoying but think about how useful it could become.

With an updated Time Capsule and the iCloud announcement, this next product that I want to see is more than possible.  That product? Universal Remote Mac Access. I can't even imagine how much more productive people will have the ability to be with this simple feature that I've been wanting for a few years now. I have always imagined it going to a website like the MobileMe website and log in and click the computer you want to connect to and there you go! Your applications, documents, and everything you need to work, without having to worry about taking your expensive computer with you.

One of the things that we are sure Apple will have with their new OS X operating system is a more iOS-like interface. This is amazing because it adds so much simplicity and will be very easy to navigate but this still most likely won't change the fact that there is very little integration with iOS products and the Macintosh system. There are many things they could to do with the OS that could give users many more features and options with an iOS device is connected. One that would be cool, but unlikely, is the ability to control your iOS device from your computer - better ability to see what takes memory on the hard drive (of iOS device) & run iOS apps from your Mac and vice versa.

The final announcement I would like to see at WWDC 2011 is Safari 6 and iTunes 12. With the launch of a new operating system, I think this would be the perfect thing to top it all off. Just like the Time Capsule and Airport, I'm not sure what they could do with Safari - although, I'm sure some can but as for iTunes, I would love to see a fresh design. They need more color with the application and it might help if there was a way to make Ping useful (also could be included in the social network integration of Lion).

Thanks for reading this, if you took the time. I know it was probably a longer post but I just wanted to get some predictions out before the event tomorrow.
