My Experience with Apple's Amazing Customer Service
On the 7th of September 2011 I invested in a new iMac, mainly because my last computer was on the brink of death and I couldn't just use my iPad for the majority of my school work. So I realised it was time for an upgrade and I immediately considered an iMac 21.5".
I then went to my nearest Apple Store and spoke to an employee who was extremely eager to help with my purchase. After discussing Apple and even school, he informed me of my student discount. It turned out I would get £70 off the iMac as well as a discount on Apple Care. I decided to purchase the Apple Care at a later date as at that time I didn't have the money for the iMac and Apple Care. This was all going swimmingly until checkout, where the employee accidentally pressed an extra £100 onto my purchase, accidentally of course.
I myself did not realise this but he did. He was so embarrassed by the fault he had made he called over a manager and discussed what he could do to knock the price down, as it had already gone through the system. After they went away and discussed the issue for 5-10 minutes the employee came back grinning, I immediately knew this was good.
Not only did I get a £100 refund, I got my £65 Mac App Store Voucher, £60 In-store Credit, 3 Years of Apple Care and a Magic Track Pad for only £0.59! The reason behind the low price of the track pad is because Apple cannot give 100% discount, only 99%.
I was definitely extremely pleased with my experience at the Apple store, in fact the employee even had the decency to follow me on Twitter! Great guy, great company.
