Could Apple Change the Education Game?
If you haven't already heard, Apple have scheduled a media event that will focus in on education. The event is scheduled to take place on Janurary 19th in New York City, The Big Apple. And don't be getting your hopes up for any iPad 3's or Apple television sets.
Apple have released countless products over the years that are a massive success with students and schools, take the iPad, iPod and the MacBook range for example, all these products are what students are almost guaranteed to at least have one of in their backpack.
Using the iPad for demonstrations, practical work and research is amazing, however, one of the features that is extremely popular with iOS devices is iBooks. iBooks has a range of books to keep anyone interested for a period of time and at amazing prices. Although, one thing iBooks does not have much of is textbooks for schools and colleges. I know from experience what it is like to carry around several heavy books in a backpack for several hours a day, and it is not pleasant.
But imagine having all those textbooks on one single lightweight and portable device such as an iPad! This would be a weight of students shoulders (literally) and I think that both Apple and students would benefit from selling textbooks on the iBookstore.
