Which Twitter Client is Best?

Since I signed up for Twitter in October 2010 I have used most Twitter clients available to me, running a Windows PC. However, I have never been able to strictly use a single client independantly without ever returning to twitter.com for certain features.

This experience has left me with mixed feelings about Twitter clients as a whole. But now that clients have matured and developed, I have decided to attempt a dramatic change in the way I act on Twitter.

Over the next four weeks, I will be using four different clients, one week at a time, to try and indentify the pros and cons of each option. I will be on a strict schedule, allowing myself to use only that Twitter client, and nothing else to post to the site.

To further add to the experiment, I will be using the Android app of the program to post on the go. However, not all of the options have an app - in this case I will be using the standard Twitter for Android app on my Sony Xperia X8 phone.

The four clients I will be using are DestroyTwitter, MetroTwit, TweetDeck and Echofon.

A schedule of the different clients can be seen below:

I will be writing a summary article on each client on Sunday each week, and once I have finished the experiment, I will write a final thoughts and evaluation article that you can expect on the 2nd of April.

So, there you have it: an experiment that will change me and provide you with knowledge.

If you wish to, download the clients as well (the company pages are linked above) and see how you get on.

Leave a comment, what are your thoughts on this experiment? And will you be joining me with it?

If you wish to follow my activity on Twitter, just to check I'm not cheating, I can be found here.

Thanks for reading guys, good luck, and I'll see you next Sunday!
