Review: Plantronics BackBeat 216 Stereo Headphones

I'm a pretty big fan of music, I love listening and performing music but when it all comes down to it I feel that the quality of the sound is definitely one of the most important things. Overall clarity and a decent bass level is my preferred setting, which the Plantronics offered and they delivered.

Upon first look you'll see that they have a really nice metallic aesthetic to them and the actual 'head' of the earphone is rather small. The cable seems like it is of a tough material so breakages may not be an issue, so far I have had no issues with the cable that affects the sound.

As I said previously, I really like having a set of earphones that have decent clarity as well as a good level of bass. The Plantronics deliver both of these factors very well without it sounding like the bass was taking over. I really enjoy these headphones, however, compared to the AJay Two earphones that I previously reviewed I prefer the AJay's due to the fitting to my ears, but that is a personal preference. 

The inclusion of the controls for iOS devices is also a plus, however I found the buttons awkward to use if you weren't looking at them or had them in a pocket.  The mic included on the controls was not great, people found it hard to hear me and they said the sound was distorted. 

Another problem I had with the Plantronics is that the cable tangles extremely easy and it isn't as easy to untangle as other earphones. The material of the cable is to blame for this, it seams that it is a fabric that is wrapped around the wire itself. A major annoyance for anyone wanting quick access to their earphones. The build quality of the earphones isn't amazing either, I felt that the 'metallic' material was more of a cheap plastic that could break very easily, something to keep in mind.

Overall, I liked the sound quality of these earphones, but the cable issue as well as the lack of a decent control feature was an annoyance and lead to me using the AJay Two's once again.
