How To Tweet From Your iPad

iPhone

Tweeting from a mobile phone is usually pretty easy thanks to both the mobile friendly version of the site you can access through a browser, and the apps they have for everything from iPhones to Nokia smartphones. But what about when you want to tweet from your iPad?

You can't deny that the tablet crowd is growing. An effective way of having a portable computer without lugging around a laptop, a lot of people are opting for the iPad these days. But accessing things can be a little different than through an iPhone.

Luckily, there are several ways to tweet from your tablet to your heart's content.

Get The Official App

The Official Twitter App

If you are just wanting to use the standard Twitter features that come with the mobile app, you can use the version that was made for the iPad. To be honest, I have never been a huge fan of the official apps. They let you tweet and communicate, but they lack some of the additional features that are a bigger part of the entire Twitter experience. Plus, other apps are just so much cooler. Which brings us to...

Hootsuite

Hootsuite

I am an unabashed fan of the whole Hootsuite platform. It is still one of the best social media dashboard available, and their app for the iPad . You can use Twitter, Facebook and a dozen other social media platforms, schedule updates, keep up on your anayltics and stats and a lot more. So it has my vote for the best on this list, plus it is free for account holders.

Tweetbot

Tweetbot

This one isn't nearly as popular as it should be, and I think that is because it costs money. But the $2.99 price tag is more than worth all of the features you get with Tweetbot. Manage multiple lists and timelines, customize your own gestures to navigate it more quickly, save data on your account and your followers and more. You can also sync it up with other services like Instapaper and Pocket.

TweetCaster

TweetCaster

It used to be a paid app, but now it is free! TweetCaster is usually considered one of the more professional Twitter apps on the market. It lets you make more customizable and filtered lists, select what you want to show in your feed, look at link previews from the app itself without clicking, hide tweets you don't want to see without unfollowing the user and a lot more. Plus it allows you to narrow down searches so you get much more selective results. I wouldn't have recommended this one if it still cost $4.99, but now that it is free I think it is well worth the download.

Conclusion

I am still partial to Hootsuite, just because I like having a full social media dashboard rather than individual apps for each network. So if you have a wider social media campaign or marketing plan going on, or just use a lot of programs for personal use, I would recommend downloading that one.

For those of you who prefer a Twitter specific app, any of the ones above are a good option. Oddly, there seem to be a lot less alternatives to the official app these days. Maybe that is because other social networks are kind of closing in on Twitter, or just because the official app is providing more features than it used to.

Either way, I have my fingers crossed for the next exciting app on the horizon.
