Drivers Ed Review
Today I’ve decided to take a look into one of my favorite classic flash games “Drivers Ed”. When I was grade school I did find myself enjoying more flash based games more than console games because of the convenience of having them in the computer lab and the games usually consisted of my sense of humor. Drivers Ed is one of those “Let’s try to be a learning tool” kind of games, which is half way succeeded. It’s a fun to play game where you can attempt your driver’s licensee by completing the set amount of tests. It’s a very simple concept, and you’d think that this would be an easy game to complete, right? Well let’s get into the main killer of the game for me.
The controls! Now what normally makes a game “A game”? Normally being able to play it right? Well, this game does allow you to play correctly, but the controls are stiff as a nail. To go forward or backwards you have to use the up or down arrow key. However, if you tap these keys to many times, your car will go faster than the speed of light. To turn, you have to hold left or right and hit forward or backward depending on what direction you want to go. Now for me this wouldn’t be so much of a problem if I wasn’t playing on my laptop. But the best part about this game, which takes the seriousness away from all of it is how you fail.
There are only a few ways you can fail. One is by leaving the screen which it will say you got to many demerits. But my personal favorite is if you just tap a pixel of a car. If you just barley tap a portion of any ones car both yours and the strangers car goes up into a ball of flames exploding both cars and automatically failing you from the test. What kind of cars are these where the instructor doesn’t have a break on his side of the car and doesn’t stop you? Next to that, why does your car explode on impact? Is this a pinto?
This is a fun game you should try if you have some free time. If you want to give this game a shot follow the link below. Thanks for watching and reading!
