How To Use The Software  

Transcription Helper is an uncomplicated software that makes it easy for both experienced and start-up transcription experts to navigate through it. When using this software, the process of transcription will be done in the following steps.

  • Selection of audio or video file: Before starting the transcription work, you will need to select the media file (audio or video) that you will be converting into text. To select the file, click the “File” menu located on the Main Window of Transcription Helper and select the “New Transcription Project” command. A dialog box asking you to select a video/audio will then open.
  • Transcription work: After selecting the video or audio file to be transcribed, you will need to click the “Play” button to start listening to the file. The same button will be used to pause the playing while the “Rewind” button will be used to playback a certain segment of the recording. Once you start playing a file, a time stamp will automatically be generated on the right side of the main window while a typing window will open on the bottom left side of the main window.
  • Save the transcript: Whether or not you are done with the transcription, you can save the done transcript by clicking the “File” menu and select the “Save Transcription Project” command. Select where you want the transcript to be saved, type in a file name, and then click the “Save” button.  

Once a transcript project is saved, you can access it by clicking the “File” menu and selecting the “Open Transcription Project” command. Select the project file and click “Open”. Transcription Helper will load the media file and the transcript exactly as you saved it. If you wish to transport the transcript, click “File” menu and select the “Export Transcription” command. An export dialog box will open.
