Websites To Find Work As A Resume Writer

Hoping to work as a Certified Resume Writer for any project? Good idea: certification signals that the writer has had to demonstrate his or her industry knowledge, talent and writing expertise. So, you want one, naturally. But where do you find a certified writer?

Start with the Industry Associations

There are two industry associations which offer their members (that would be, resume writers) a path to professional certification.

That coveted certificate provides a notice to the public that the writer who holds it has demonstrated his or her knowledge, talent and writing expertise, and affirms that writer's dedication to furthering the career goals of his clients.

1 - The Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches (PARW/CC) - this industry association with long name was founded in 1990. Certified members hold the designation CPRW after their name, which stands for Certified Professional Resume Writer. PARW/CC was the first professional resume organization to develop a testing procedure and started to recognize resume professional who demonstrate a level of expertise in their craft.

2 - The National Resume Writers' Association (NRWA)- 450-member non-profit trade organization founded in 1996 or even earlier. Certified members hold the designation NCRW after their name, which stands for Nationally Certified Resume Writer. Association members have access to premier resume-writing tools, training and resources delivered via a variety of methods - teleseminars to online tutorials to an annual conference.

Work The Search Feature On Association Sites

Both associations mentioned above have search engines (like Google or Yahoo) on their home pages that allow the public to identify their certified members by geography. Active association members (those taking on resume clients), will usually mention their company affiliation and make contact information available - either a phone number or email address or both.

The prospective client (you), can then reach out to members via phone or email with questions regarding services offered, industry expertise, pricing, turnaround times, etc. If two or more certified resume writers pop up in your area, you'll be able to compare writers and choose the one you feel most comfortable working with.

Some of the popular websites are

Craftresumes.com: Online for over 9 years and in the resume writing business for even longer, ResumeEdge is one of the most notable resume service you will find. Their writers have all passed extensive training and testing and they have many distinguished certified resume writers on their staff. They cover almost any type of resume you could possibly need to help with from business to government and everything else in-between. They proudly boast an overall customer satisfaction rating of 99 percent which mean that if you decide to work with them you are more than likely going to love the results.

Edusson.com: Once featured in Huffington Post Magazine, has a long and proud tradition of writing resumes. They too offer a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee to back their over decade long service record. On staff they also have many certified resume writers and their dedication to customer satisfaction is a true plus.

I contacted recently Edusson members and they are planning to start a great community which will include many bloggers, education specialists, travel blogger, marketing expert, professional career coaches and many many others.
