The Reappearance of the iPod Nano Fifth Generation?

When the new iPod nanos were released around late 2010, I immediately knew that I, a tech enthusiast, would not be too pleased. The concept is great, sure, but when you incorporate an already used aspect from another iPod, the touch screen, to a model that revolves around being a good medium in between the iPod touch and iPod classic, we get a little "sketchy" on what is to happen in the future.

Now, touch screen devices are indeed the future, but wouldn't it be nice to steer clear from it without spending a few more dollars on a Classic? The iPod nano fifth generation was and still is a great device. I'm not implying that the newer device is at all a bad product, but it just isn't what I think it should be. Apple still needs to continue developing newer generations of iPods that stay up to date, like the alleged camera on the new nano update, but still offer in full, some older generations that we, as a group, are used to.

Apple Magic Trackpad: Review

When I purchased the Magic Trackpad, I was really hesitating as to whether to buy the Trackpad or the Magic Mouse. Both were the same price (roughly), however I think I made the right decision.

Firstly, the Magic Trackpad is essentially like an iPhone screen. All the multi-touch gestures on the iPhone are integrated into the Magic Trackpad. You can do anything you want, even pinch to zoom and turning your fingers to rotate pictures in Aperture or iPhoto. This is really brilliant, as it brings one of the best bits of the iPhone to the Mac. Furthermore, the Magic Mouse has really limited gestures, and is nothing like an iPhone screen.

The other thing I like about the Trackpad is how wide it is. You have room to do all the gestures, and when compared with the Magic Mouse, for example, you realise the difference. On the Magic Mouse gesture wise, everything is cramped, so it makes a real difference.

The final thing to say is that the Magic Trackpad is the future. The mouse is slowly disappearing, and multi-touch is the future. The Magic Trackpad therefore is the future, and the Magic Mouse, even having some limited multi touch capabilities, is more a less the past.

Apple rarely make disappointing products (there have been some though), and they, in my opinion, certainly have not disappointed with the Magic Trackpad. which really is the way to go. Needless to say, a 3 year old could have installed it.

White iPhone 4 Unboxing

After ten months of waiting, the mythical white iPhone 4 is now available for mass consumption. The white iPhone 4 was initially debuted alongside the black last year at WWDC, but was delayed multiple times due to manufacturing problems.

iPhone 5: My Expectations

Everyone is excited for one of Apple's iconic devices, the iPhone 5. Though no one knows for sure, we have our "expectations" of what will be packed within Apple's new iPhone. Sometimes the rumors are true. Sometimes the rumors are not. This is what I expect to see in Apple's latest iPhone.

One of the most expected features of the next generation iPhone is the new Apple A5 chip. The current version of the iPhone has the A4 chip. The A5 chip is one of my most expected features. The iPad has it and many other phones have dual core processors. Why not the iPhone since Apple likes having the best? I also expect to see the iPhone in white this time. The white iPhone 4 was introduced, but never released. I think Apple is waiting for the iPhone 5 to release a white version. I definately expect to see 4G HSPA+ in the AT&T model of the iPhone. It's possible it with support both LTE and HSPA+, but I'm pretty sure we'll at least get HSPA+. iOS 5 should be released sometime during the release as well, so I'm expecting that. I also expect FaceTime over 3G/4G, longer battery life, and additional carriers such as Sprint.

These are just my expectations. We'll find out if the iPhone 5 will have these features, or better yet, if the next generation iPhone will be called the 'iPhone 5'. We can only hope these features are included, but I'm sure Apple will find something to win us over with.

Tour of a Geek's Room

I've been getting a few requests from my viewers asking for a tour of my room. I thought it was a great idea. It'd give them an exclusive look of how I live and work on a daily basis. Originally I was inspired by David Di Franco to finally make this video. So, come and take a look at where I run my show every day. Thanks for taking a look. This video is in two parts. I'd rather not waste white space, so you can click here to view part 2 if you'd like.
