Microsoft Releases Office for iPad, and Cuts Support to Windows XP

Although it has been four years it has finally happened, and was the talk of the tech community last week. Finally Microsoft releases the Office for iPad application, which is now on the top most downloaded applications in the iPad’s app store. It may not be the best of office applications, but it was what people were looking for in an office application. It is free to download but you do have to have an Office 365 account to create and edit documents. But you can read documents with no problem. For a more hand on approach to this cool little application, the link below should help you a lot better than a simple explanation.

Students Smell Success in the App Store!

There’s no doubt that the mobile app industry is taking the world by storm, changing our lives and creating multi-millionaires overnight. With that in mind, three university students in New Zealand take their first steps into this new and exciting world. Students – Mark, Paul and Chuck – recently launched their first app, Flying Fun for iOS, and are now looking to grow their already successful app business.

Fourth generation iPad review

The fourth generation iPad has been out for about two months now, with a new iPad possibly on it’s way in the spring. I’ve been using the new iPad for a few weeks now, and my experiences with it have been positive to say the least. I chose to get the iPad not because it was popular, but because I liked what I seen. The performance that it delivered in store was much better than the performance of my last tablet, a Motorola Xoom; the online reviews of the iPad were overall, quite positive, and the app support was much better than what any Android tablet could deliver at the time of me writing this. I thought about the Microsoft Surface, but apps and performance made me think twice about that option. Although it does look like a nice tablet, Windows RT, poor app support, and performance issues made me decide against that tablet. I thought the decision through, and eventually decided that the iPad would probably be the best tablet for me.

Once I got the iPad home, and got it out of the box, the setup process was pretty simple. I applaud Apple on the simple setup process, and simple UI throughout all of iOS. I made it through the setup process in less than five minutes, and then it was ready to use, and test.

iPad mini... Will be here 3 December 2012

Jacob here from @SuperPolli and www.superpolli.com. I ordered my iPad mini earlier today. Apple says it will ship to me in 2 weeks. That lines up to be 24 November 2012. Apple then goes on to say that my iPad should arrive on my doorstep on 3 December. I cannot express how excited I am. I did not get AppleCare+. I just felt that it wasn't worth the money. Even a broken iPad can be sold on eBay and I could save up to replace it. And that's if the problem was terrible. I will buy a Smart Cover after the device gets here. I see no need in taking the money out of my pocket now when the device will not actually be here for another three weeks. I didn't order it because I didn't want one coming before the other. I have made the decision about what color Smart Cover I will be buying. That will be announced in my iPad mini Unboxing video which will be posted on my personal YouTube channel and right here on TekSocial.

That Was Fast... Here's Another Post

Hey guys, Jacob here from www.superpolli.com A quick post about the iPad mini tonight and exactly why I am buying one.

I've sold my iPad 2 and shipped it out yesterday. With that money I will be buying an iPad mini in a couple of weeks. I will be buying the 16 GB version in White and Silver. Also a Smart Cover and I have not decided on a color for that. You can vote on what color Smart Cover I should buy in the comments below. I'll pick a color via random.com . Now here's why I will be buying the device I ranted against...

The iPad mini is a great idea. A perfect iPad for students who just want to read books, the person who wants to sit on the deck with a book, or pretty much anyone who has no need for a full size iPad. I expect that I will enjoy my iPad mini. If for some reason I don't like it I can always return it and save up enough money to buy a full size iPad 4. My iPad is not a vital part of my tech life. That honor goes straight to my iPhone 5, closely followed by my Mac mini. My iPhone 5 is completely capable of running my life. My iPhone 4S was just as good at that task. My iPad mini will definitely be a huge part of my tech life. My iPad 2 was a huge part of my tech life before I got an iPhone. My iPad mini will be just as important as the iPad 2 was. The main reason being that I plan for my iPad mini to be a big part of my entertainment life. My iPad 2 never really had a defined role in daily life. The iPad mini is pretty much made for reading and being small enough to watch videos on and be even more portable than the iPad with Retina Display (iPadRD) is.

So go vote on what color Smart Cover I should get. Making decisions is not my strong point...
